"One Chance" by Lena Hendrix is the third installment in The Sullivan Family series, focusing on Lee Sullivan and Annette Crane, affectionately known as Annie.

Lee, an ex-ARMY man turned firefighter, is the epitome of a small-town heartthrob. His reputation as the town's playboy precedes him, with a long list of past encounters with local girls and tourists.

Annie and Lee share a lifelong friendship. However, Annie, an orphan, runs a ceramics store that isn't faring well. Her dreams have been put on hold due to her current circumstances.

During the Matchmaker’s Gala, a charity event in their small town, Annie's life takes an unexpected turn. Lee, her best friend, unexpectedly outbids her crush, Charles, in an auction for 6 dates with her. When they argue about it, Lee silences her with a kiss, and they decide to pretend to date to deter Lee’s admirers and make her crush jealous.

What starts as a ruse begins to feel undeniably real with every kiss and every touch. Yet, Annie hides a deep secret related to Lee's time in the ARMY, something that could shatter their friendship forever.

After their "dates," Lee asks for a chance at a real relationship. The question is, can they overcome Annie's hidden secret to seize that chance?

In this well-written book, readers gain insight into Lee's character and his tendency to use humor as a coping mechanism. Lee's reputation as the town's playboy is a facade he maintains, but his feelings for Annie are authentic. Their relationship remains platonic on the surface, although they secretly yearn for more.

Amid the laughter, their connection deepens, leading to passionate moments they can no longer deny. Lee believes their intimacy is fleeting, but Annie, having loved him from afar, is ready to explore a deeper connection.

A shocking revelation involving letters from Lee's past unfolds, challenging their relationship. Lee has long believed these letters were from his deceased ex-girlfriend, Margo, when in fact, Annie was the secret author. The truth behind these letters affects their dynamic.

Ultimately, the story is one of personal growth and transformation. Lee learns to see himself differently and as someone deserving of love. Annie's past experiences have left her guarded and fearing abandonment, but through her connection with Lee, she opens up and embraces the possibilities of love.

Their journey to love is filled with romantic gestures and genuine emotion. The dance scene between Lee and Annie was pure magic, a moment where they truly felt like one soul in two bodies, moving in perfect harmony.

And that tattoo of the dianthus Annette flower on Lee's body is such a beautiful symbol of his deep connection with Annie. It's a constant reminder of her presence, keeping him grounded and close to her in spirit.

For Lee, every day with Annie was a treasured gift, making those moments together the best times of his life. Their love story is a testament to the power of genuine connection and shared experiences. 💃🕺🌼❤️

The sizzling chemistry between Lee and Annie brought the pages to life with fiery passion. Lee's choice of words, those deliciously filthy whispers, set the scenes ablaze. These moments were so intense and electrifying that words almost couldn't do them justice.

This small-town romance brings laughter, heartfelt moments, and everything in between. The Sullivan family's strong bonds and support of one another add depth to the narrative. Annie's fears of losing her newfound family drive her, making her story one of belonging and love.
